Experience
For the past year, I have been tutoring college students in math at Spokane Falls Community College. As a math tutor, I am responsible for providing assistance to students at various levels. I currently tutor basic math, algebra, pre calculus I, pre calculus II, and calculus I. In addition, I am pursuing my BAE in Secondary Mathematics Education. I hold a 3.75 cumulative GPA in Math and a 3.69 overall cumulative GPA. Students appreciate my patience and good listening skills, and I have been told that I communicate concepts clearly and effectively. I believe my experience and training in pedagogy is a valuable asset in tutoring. I approach math tutoring with a comprehension philosophy. Simply remembering formulas will help you pass a test, but without understanding the formulas are soon forgotten and the student will once again struggle. I strive to grasp the learning style of each individual student, and then put math concepts into terms that each student can easily relate to.

I am a Christian, a husband, and a father of two beautiful girls, one college age and the other in high school. I love to golf, hike, fish, and spend time with my family. I am passionate about helping students succeed in math as success in mathematics often equates to success in life.
